Our award winning YouthSPACE training scheme is open to young people aged 12 to 24.
Whether you want to follow a career in broadcasting and media, or just want to grow your confidence and learn new skills – this could be the start you need. Our YouthSPACE mentor will teach you about media broadcasting, production, interview techniques, managing social media, podcasting and much more. There is no expectation to broadcast live but this will be an option for those who want to give it a try.
The free training scheme is open to young people aged 12 to 24 years old who live across Skye & Lochalsh and will be tailored to each individual; developing skills that are transferable, helping young people gain confidence, showcasing each individual voice, improving self-esteem and helping to combat social anxieties.
If you can’t make it to the Radio Skye studio, don’t worry – we can come to you in our all-electric outside broadcasting van.

The training scheme was crowned Community Impact Project of the Year at the 2024 Community Radio Awards.
