Robert John MacInnes
Robert John MacInnes has been a presenter at the station since 2016 and is the Youth Mentor on the Radio Skye YouthSPACE training scheme. He’s also previously served on the board of Radio Skye.
Robert is from Kishorn, although is now based on Skye, and was a student at the Plockton Music School and Plockton High School. He started presenting at the station shortly after leaving school and it very quickly became (and remains!) one of his biggest passions and loves.
Friday Night Trad showcases the newest releases in Scottish Traditional Music featuring live interviews, listener requests, and some older tracks too. As a Gaelic singer and traditional musician himself, Robert loves broadcasting music from this genre. In 2023, the show was awarded 2nd place in the Specialist Music Show of the Year category at the Community Radio Awards. It was then nominated in the Trad Music in the Media category at the 2024 Scots Trad Music Awards.
