This Wednesday we’ll be live all day interviewing some of the key people who work with children and young people across Skye & Lochalsh to kick off our fundraising for this year’s Cram The Van Toy Appeal for 2021.
With another difficult year for families across Skye & Lochalsh, Radio Skye’s Cram The Van Toy Appeal makes sure Christmas is taken care of. In 2020, we had a record number of children and young people we supported with gifts, toys and vouchers. The pandemic has meant more families have struggled to make ends meet and with an uncertain winter ahead, Radio Skye has started it’s fundraising early to give more people time to donate.We’ll be doing another amazing give-away too so tune in!

In September we’ll be doing another 24 Hour Live, 24 hours of live shows to highlight and raise funds for Cram The Van. In November, the station will be gathering new toys and gifts for local children (from babies to teens) via the various donation points around their listening area and literally cramming the Radio Skye van with all contributions to then distribute to the local children and families who will appreciate it most this Christmas.
In 2020, an incredible £3600 was donated by the community which bought gifts, gift vouchers and food vouchers in addition to the toys collected in the red toy bins. Over the last two years, Cram The Van has supported more and more young people in teenage years and Radio Skye wants to make sure they too have a great Christmas so they are asking for more donations this year to make sure this age group doesn’t miss out on a good Christmas.
