A campaign is being launched this week to promote a pioneering transport accessibility app that aims to make travel planning easier in the Highlands and Islands.
The travelling public are being encouraged to download the GO-HI app, which was launched by the Highlands and Islands Transport Partnership (HITRANS) in 2021.
Users can plan, book and pay for all journeys in one transaction, with transport companies such as Scotrail, Loganair, Stagecoach and various ferry and hire car companies all being a part of the scheme.
As a thank you for downloading the app, travellers are being rewarded with free bus travel for one year between Inverness Airport in Dalcross and the new airport railway station.
Ranald Robertson, Director of HITRANS, said:
“With support from the Scottish Government though the MaaS Investment fund, we have been developing the app for two years and are now ready for a major push for our residents to take advantage of its many significant benefits, such as providing a wide range of transport information and booking services to residents, tourists and business travellers.
“I commend it to everyone in our region where travel is so important.”
Final preparations are underway at the Lump in Portree as Skye Live kicks off with Peat and Diesel tonight.
The festival will see acts including Breabach, Valtos and Talisk taking to the stage across the weekend, with local artists such as Skye & Lochalsh band Falasgair also being showcased.
The organisers are reminding festival goers that entry to the site is through Bank Street and last entry is at 8pm on Friday and Saturday.

Award winning Scottish Celtic rock band Skerryvore are celebrating reaching the top of the official UK music charts with their latest album Tempus.
The album has been crowned Number 1 in the Scottish album charts, and has entered the Top 40 in the UK album charts.
Speaking to fans on social media, the band said:

The first ever major rock and pop event on Lewis is being held later this month as the island launches a brand new music festival.
Midnight Sun Weekender is its name, and it will bring international acts such as The Pretenders and Primal Scream to the Lews Castle grounds in Stornoway, with a UK festival headline exclusive from John Fogerty also on the lineup.
The 3 day festival kicks off on Thursday 25th May.
Zero Waste Scotland are hosting free coffee and lunch events across Skye and Lochalsh this Friday 12th May to help encourage communities to talk about waste and recycling.
From 11am to 12pm, a free Business Brunch is being held at the Hebridean Inn in Broadford, with discussions on being a business in a Circular Economy, cardboard waste and advice about business support funding.
Between 2pm and 4pm at An Crubh in Sleat, there is a free craft workshop – with coffee – to make produce bags for shopping combined with a Q&A about waste and recycling. Following this, there will be a showing of the film Landfill Harmonic at An Crubh at 7pm along with a post-film Q&A with Zero Waste Scotland and the Highland Community Waste Patnership.
Skye Camanachd will take on Glen Urquhart and Newtonmore in the Super Saturday games at Pairc nan Laoich this weekend.
The MOWI North Division 1 match with Newtonmore kicks off at 12 noon, followed by a 3pm throw up for the cottages.com MacTavish Cup Semi Final against Glen Urquhart.
