Radio Skye is strengthening its news team with the appointment of Jamie McDonald as our new dedicated journalist for Skye and Lochalsh. Originally from Heaste, Jamie returns to the island with over a decade of experience at the BBC and in commercial radio.

Deer Society

The British Deer Society are into its third year of monitoring the impact of its new signage programme on the Ilam yarmin estate in the south end of Skye. The A851 is a hotspot for dear casualties through collisions with vehicles.

Broadford Kids Swap

As the cost of living continues to impact local households, a popular community event is returning to help families in Skye and Lochalsh save money and reduce waste. The Broadford Kids’ Swap takes place this Saturday, February 7th, at Broadford Hall from 2:00 to 4:00 PM.

Whether you have post-Christmas clutter to clear out or need to find clothes and toys for children aged zero to eighteen, the event is completely free.
