37-YEAR-OLD MAN FOUND DEAD ON BUS IN PORTREE

A 37-year-old has been found dead on a bus in Portree.
Police say they received a report of an unresponsive man at 8.50pm on Monday night.
Emergency services attended the scene. He was pronounced dead.
Officers say the man’s family has been told.
The death is being treated as unexplained but Police say there do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said:
“Around 8.50pm on Monday, 5 October, we received a report of an unresponsive man on a bus in Portree.
“Emergency services attended and a 37-year-old man was pronounced dead. His family is aware.
“The death is being treated as unexplained but there do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances.”
A spokesperson for Scottish Citylink said:
“We can confirm that a passenger was found unresponsive on board one of our services on Monday evening and sadly passed away. We are deeply saddened by this news, and our thoughts are with the passenger’s family and loved ones at this very difficult time. We have been working closely with the emergency services and continue to support Police Scotland with their enquiries into this tragic incident.”
Skye MSP Andrew Baxter said:
“These are very sad circumstances, and my thoughts are with the man’s family and friends. It is important that we avoid speculation and give the authorities the time and space to carry out their work.”
Skye Councillor John Finlayson said:
“I was very saddened to hear of the tragic death on the bus in Portree of a young male. I do not have details about the circumstances but my thoughts go out to the deceased’s family & friends at this difficult time.”
